Provenance: listed as part of the Goodson bequest in Malchair 1787, f. 14: 'Several Numbers of Mercurius / Musicus. one Vol. by various masters'. The absence of an entry for this volume in early catalogues of the Aldrich bequest, and the lack of any early shelfmark or bookplate, all strengthen the likelihood of Goodson provenance.

Oblong format, 213 x 149 mm. Early C18th binding of brown leather over boards, blind-tooled with fillets, lightly repaired in the early C20th, with new flyleaves added. No early bookplate. C19th shelfmark: I.4.48. Inside upper cover annotated by York Powell.
